It’s the Holidays
We’re five days away from Christmas morning—just four days left to work your magic as one of Santa’s little elves. While some blogs this close to the big day take an “It’s almost over” approach (and not in a sad way, but more of a thank-goodness tone), that’s not where my heart is. My stance is simple: I’m not ready for it to end.
As I reflect on this holiday season and gear up for the grand finale, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of one thing—it’s the journey, not the destination. Sometimes we get so caught up in counting down to “Christmas morning” that we forget the days leading up to it can be just as magical.
So, here’s my reminder:
Pour another cup of hot chocolate.
Watch that holiday movie for the 10th time.
Keep wearing the matching pajamas (yes, even if the neighbors are stopping by).
Celebrate every little thing as much as possible.
Romanticize your life because you only get this one. Make the most of the tiny moments, because those moments will eventually become the memories you treasure most.
The other day, I listened to the Car Pool Mom Podcast, and the hosts shared something their mom does every holiday season. She wears as many sequins as possible, enjoys all the festive drinks, and fully embraces every opportunity to celebrate. Her reasoning? “It’s the holidays.”
And you know what? She’s right.
So, as we wrap up this season, let’s remind ourselves of that too. It’s the holidays. Give as much as you can—whether that’s gifts, your time, or just your kindness (because kindness is always free). Laugh as hard as you can. Soak in every moment. Don’t stress about whether you’re creating the “perfect” memory; the best ones happen naturally.
Merry Christmas, friends. I hope your coffee stays hot, your holiday playlist stays on repeat, and any sibling squabbles are minimal (or at least entertaining).
Thank you for following along with me this year. Whether you’ve read one blog post or supported my creative spirit by purchasing my books, I’m so grateful for you.
Here’s to a holiday season filled with magic and a new year full of possibilities.
Warmly,
Katie Marie
Happy reading.
