Hi! I’m Katie Marie and I am so glad you are here. Motherhood took me on an unexpected journey of becoming a children’s picture book author. After having my second baby, sweet Elloise, I decided to follow my dreams in order to show my children they are capable of anything they put their minds to. With hard work, determination, and positive self-talk, I believe any of us are capable of reaching our biggest goals! Every Friday I write a new blog post about different topics related to my life as a wife, mother, and writer. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy writing it. Personal favorites
When I was a little girl, I received an Easter package in the mail. One of the items included in the box was Shel Silverstein’s, Where the Sidewalk Ends. If you haven’t heard of it, maybe you live at the end of that sidewalk. Either way, you need your own copy! I read that book over and over and I would recite the passages, laughing, and wanting anyone I was reading it to, to laugh right along with me. I would walk around to my family, “sister for sale, sister for sale…” I could actually say the whole thing out loud right now from memory, but no one is around, and my dogs might look at me funny.
